Der Spiegel has announced “Never before has a speech by President Barack Obama felt as false”. It couldn’t be more true, for those on the left. Those of us on the right already know what he’s thinking. He doesn’t want to be the first President to lose the war. No matter what he would be help politically responsible for that.

Obama tried to play both sides last night. He tried to be Winston Churchill, saying we will pay any price. He then tried to appease his left wing base, saying that we do in fact have a budget and we need to get out of there by July 2011, just in time for my campaign. No one found this speech inspiring. It was a unmitigated disaster. He is complaining to the cadets at West Point that they are costing him too much money, while spending hundreds of billions on “stimulus”.No wonder they were falling asleep.
