We are still waiting for an Afghan Decision

Obama has yet to decide on the troop levels, and specifically the requesrts made by the Generals on the ground as to what he was going to do. Instead of concerntrating on what he calls a very important and grave decision, he went to Asia. It might be relevant to add that he accomplished exactly nothing during his trip. Asian countries are saddled with our debt and are wary of his leadership.

Also are Der Speigel points out so nicely today, Obama’s “nice guy” diplomacy has gotten him nowhere. In fact his whole presidency has been defined by a complete lack of action. He hasn’t been able to pass anything since the “stimulus” bill.

I do find it hard to swallow the how the left in this country is comparing Obama to Lincoln, because Lincoln didn’t listen to his generals either. While it is true that Lincoln did fire some of his generals, most notably Mclellan, there is a big difference in this comparison. Lincoln fired Mclellan because he wouldn’t attack. He would not engage the confederate forces and therefore was useless to him.

Obama’s situation is 180 degrees different. He has generals that are desperate to fight. They have carefully and thoughtfully prepared battle plans and strategies that he simply rejects. It is Obama that is the one dithering and failing the requirements of his command. Obama’s comparisons to Lincoln are perverse and completely off base. Lincoln was strong and resolute. Obama is weak and desperately seeking approval. Obama will never be a great President, that much has already been proven.
