The Dems are holding the party line to get the cloture vote through, but they are starting to crack. They realize that this current bill being debated, which is less radical than the house bill which they will have to reconcile with is extremely unpopular. Rasmussen reports that reducing the deficiet is the top priority for voters, and it should be.

This healthcare bill will bankrupt the US. We cannot afford our current lifestyle, let alone a massive new entitlement program that dramatically increases the size of government and completely controls one sixth of the US Economy. It would be a real tragedy if the only place in the world where real resarch and development in medicine is brought to its knees all for political favor.
