Rush Limbaugh dropped from bid to buy St. Louis Rams
Media — By Atlas on October 18, 2009 at 12:12 pmRush Limbaugh has been offcially dropped from the investment group that was putting together a bid to buy the St. Louis Rams. He has written an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal detailing the whole experience. In the end it is sad to see someone denied access so something, simply based on their political views. It sets a dangerous precident, unless of course you’re a liberal.
As a free markets person, I had some trouble with this one. I respect that the NFL can choose who they want to buy thier teams. I respect that the government has no place here to defend Rush, there’s no law against what they did, nor should there be. All I can say is that it wouldn’t be this way if it were Jesse Jackson trying to buy the Rams. It would never have been allowed.
The real breakdown in the system though is in the media. They are the only ones that prevented this from happening. They used this as an oppourtunity to destroy Rush, or a least a part of his dream. That’s the real issue, the abuse of power by the media. This would have never happened to a liberal, that’s the real tragedy.
